Boricua College proposes to implement "Project Abrazar: Crime Prevention and Recidivism Reduction through Supportive Services and Opportunities." The purpose of the project is to provide comprehensive support and resources tailored to the needs of formerly incarcerated and justice-involved individuals, as well as their families, in the New York City area.

The project encompasses various activities aimed at facilitating successful reintegration into society. These include referral services such as social support services, which offer education, mentoring, financial literacy, and substance abuse treatment; work opportunities, which provide job training, placement assistance, and entrepreneurship support; mental health counseling, which refers program participants to counseling, therapy, and rehabilitation programs; and legal assistance. Additionally, the initiative emphasizes forging community partnerships with entities like Woodhull Hospital, local police precincts, and community-based organizations to expand support services and foster collaborative relationships.

Project activities include establishing referral services to provide social support services, job training, placement assistance, entrepreneurship support, mental health counseling, and legal assistance. Community partnerships will be formed with Woodhull Hospital for high-quality mental health services, local police precincts to foster community relationships, and community-based organizations to expand support services. Community services partner organizations will offer education and skill development through GED programs and vocational training, mentoring and support groups, financial literacy and budgeting assistance, substance abuse and mental health treatment, health and wellness services, legal assistance, and job training and placement.
