The Non-Removable Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe is a federally recognized tribe located in Onamia, Minnesota. With this funding, the Band’s Court of Central Jurisdiction will further build capacity for our culturally based tribal Healing to Wellness Court, Noojimo wgamig Inaawanidiwag (Healing Journey). This project’s goals are to: increase capacity for Healing to Wellness Court to effectively coordinate court and recovery resources, increase accountability, and improve greater tribal community support; reduce band member recidivism rate for substance use-related offenses and child removal; secure culturally appropriate learning activities for participants; and monitor the effectiveness of Healing to Wellness Court supports and processes.
