Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $679,180)

McLennan County Driving while Intoxicated/Drug Court (MCDDC) is a post-adjudication treatment program for adults that spans at least 12 months and is divided into four phases. McLennan County developed an evidence based MCDDC program using research, as well as the growing body of literature regarding evidence-based practices, and the 10 Key Components of a Treatment Court, as outlined by the Bureau of Justice Assistance. Using the sequential intercept model, McLennan County officials are working to transform fragmented systems, identify local resources and gaps and develop strategies for intervention. The goals of the program are to enhance court services; enhance collection and use of MCDDC operations and outcome data; and improve the quality and intensity of services based on needs and assessments. The objectives of the program are to provide judicial and community supervision, mandatory and random drug testing, substance use and mental health disorder treatment, and appropriate incentives and sanctions; ensure that all individuals eligible for the treatment court have equivalent access as measured by the collection and examination of program data; and enhance access to recovery support services.
