Franklin School District proposed Franklin Safer Climate 2024 (FSC2024) to tackle significant challenges faced by 927 k-12 students across three schools with the overarching goal of reducing targeted violence within the schools. This project will enhance fidelity to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support for Behavior (MTSSB) model, guiding the delivery of awareness, prevention, and response activities throught the school community. Project activities include strengthening the MTSSB implementation district-wide, adopting restorative practices, enhancing staff training in trauma responsive care, and forging sronger partnerships with families and community organizations. FSC 2024 will cultivate resilience, improve school climate, and promote academic achievement by addressing behavioral health challenges and underlying risk factors like high rates of suspensioons, safety incidents, and mental health concerns comprehensively. Expected outcomes inclulde a reduction of violent incidents at school, increased provision of evidence-based interventions, increased family and community engagement in school activities, and decreased use of exclusionary discipline practices.
