Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $60,304)

Project Purpose and Objectives: Provide aid to the Central State Repository (Idaho State Police (ISP)/Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI)) in processing unit backlog and increase compliance with FBI required timelines through hiring two (2) part-time temporary Technical Records Specialist 1 (TRS1) positions to take up some of the daily processing to give full-time Sex Offender Registration (SOR) unit staff time to tackle substantially equivalent (SE) determination write-ups and ensure that federal processing timelines are met.

Strategies: This project will aid the SOR unit staff; to take some of the data entry workload off the full-time staff who can then focus on backlogged substantially equivalent determinations.  The part-time staff will be able to work on backlogged tasks such as checking or processing offender photos and fingerprints. The part-time staff will allow the unit to regain compliance with FBI timelines for registration processing.
