Walker County Sheriff's Office Equipment and Technology

The Walker County Sheriff’s Office is soliciting federal funding through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) to purchase technology and equipment to further enhance officer safety in the performance of their official duties while enforcing the laws of the State of Georgia as well as the safety of suspects and victims. Funds would be used to enhance officer safety by purchasing Motorola wireless shoulder mics and extra battery with will pair via Bluetooth to our portable radios. These would eliminate the mic cords that we currently use which in some cases have provided aggressors with something to grab, either breaking the cord or causing the officer to lose their radio.
