The Gilroy Police Department seeks funding to provide our officers with high-quality respirator masks, ensuring their safety and readiness in hazardous environments. Officers are increasingly exposed to airborne threats, including tear gas, toxic fumes, and potential chemical or biological agents, in the line of duty. Without appropriate protection, officers face serious health risks that could compromise their ability to respond effectively. This project aims to equip the department with durable CBRN-rated respirator masks to ensure our team is prepared for crowd control situations, hazardous material incidents, and other high-risk scenarios. By investing in this protective equipment, we will enhance officer safety, improve operational effectiveness, and bolster the department’s capacity to protect and serve the Gilroy community.
