The Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians is a federally recognized Tribe located in Belcourt, Rolette County, North Dakota. The Turtle Mountain Tribes Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program strives to provide all tribal youth with the best-case management services available. High rates of homelessness, poverty, unemployment, alcohol and substance abuse, and violent crime continue to elevate juvenile substance abuse cases in our area and puts a tremendous burden on our juvenile court system. Despite these obstacles, the Tribe is determined to create a safer community by improving case management practices in our juvenile programs to better serve our youth involved in the tribal court system.
The goal of the Turtle Mountain Tribe is to ensure a safer community for all tribal members by increasing our Tribal Juvenile Drug Treatment Courts capacity to enhance our juvenile case management process. Therefore, the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa request JAG funds to purchase a case management software system for our Tribal Juvenile Drug Treatment Court Program.
JAG funding will ensure that the Turtle Mountain Juvenile Drug Treatment Court achieves the goals of strengthening the programs record keeping efficiency, identifying and correcting internal case management issues in real time, strengthening court staff performance, achieving our program goals and objectives, and improving evidence-based documentation for grant reporting.
To achieve their goals and objectives, the Tribe respectfully request BJA FY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program Local Solicitation provide funding for juvenile drug treatment court case management system.
