The Wilson Police Department and the Wilson County Sheriff's Office (Disparate Jurisdiction) will utilize funding from the FY 2024 JAG Grant to purchase cameras, and office equipment.

The Wilson Police Department will use JAG funds to purchase additional cameras for its surveillance camera system to detect and deter crime on a regular basis. This allows officers to be proactive, stop crimes in progress, and build strong cases against offenders. The cameras are strategically placed throughout the city and divisions within the police department use them to investigate crimes and build strong cases against suspects. The police department’s specialized divisions use these cameras on a daily basis for proactive policing and investigations.
