In-car Handheld Ballistic Shields

The purpose of this project is to equip marked police vehicles with handheld ballistic shields for use by uniformed officers. These handheld shields are equipped with ballistic glass viewing ports to assist in maneuvering through dangerous environments and provide ballistic protection for both law enforcement Officers and the public they serve during critical incidents, such as Active Shooter incidents, Hostage Recovery efforts, Armed Barricaded subjects, and Officer and/or Citizen Down Rescue operations. The goal is to eventually equip each marked Patrol vehicle in the fleet with one ballistic shield for the Officer(s) assigned to the vehicles to use during the above listed critical incidents.
