The St. Joseph Police Department plans to use the available funding to improve one specific area of equipment need. This category/project will greatly assist the department in response to all types of criminal activity but will be specifically focused on efforts to reduce violent crime, apprehend offenders, and achieve successful prosecution. The success of this project will not only assist in the reduction of violent crime, but it will also promote public trust between the community and Law Enforcement agencies within the city of St. Joseph and Buchanan County. Below is the actual request which includes the Buchanan County allocation. St. Joseph Police Department plans to purchase the following equipment: 10 Flock stationary License Plate Reader (LPR) systems with software, often referred to Falcon cameras, which includes installation and maintenance.
