Acquisition of Marked Cruiser

The City of Lawrence is committed to enhancing public safety through the strategic use of funding from the FY24 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. Supported by Mayor Brian A. DePena and Police Chief Melix Bonilla, this proposal seeks to procure and outfit a 2024 Ford Interceptor marked police cruiser. This initiative aims to bolster the city’s law enforcement capabilities by increasing the availability and effectiveness of police vehicles, directly addressing the community’s safety concerns amidst ongoing socio-economic challenges. By enhancing the quality and quantity of its fleet, the City of Lawrence endeavors to improve response times, officer safety, and overall community trust in law enforcement. This investment reflects our proactive approach to fostering a safer environment for all residents, ensuring that our police force is equipped to meet the demands of the community effectively.
