2024 JAG Grant (Real-time Intelligence Center)

The Burlington Police Department is continuously striving to improve its capabilities in responding to emergencies and addressing criminal activity efficiently. As part of these efforts, the Real-Time Intelligence Center (RTIC) is a crucial component that will allow for the monitoring of multiple data feeds from various sources. Over the last few years, the Burlington Police Department has invested heavily in technology to increase the department’s effectiveness and efficiency in the prevention, detection, and investigation of crime. This technology has enabled officers and crime analysts’ additional tools to be more effective in their roles. The final step in the implementation of this technology is a consolidated intelligence center with sufficient video monitoring equipment to afford crime analysts and incident commanders readily available access to the visual intelligence gained through the technology investments of past years.
