Chico Police Department Law Enforcement Project within the City of Chico and County of Butte.

The City of Chico Police Department will utilize JAG funds to purchase (3) workstations for police substations to assist with the speed and efficiency of investigations, as well as lighting equipment to aid in investigation and documentation of crime scenes and traffic collisions. To maintain operational capability and to safeguard equipment, Chico PD will purchase portable map boards for field operations and lockable storage for specialized equipment used in response to crisis situations. To solidify the integrity of the chain of custody in our property and evidence process, Chico PD will purchase a balance scale to ensure the accuracy of measurements of evidentiary items, shelving units for the forensic evidence freezer, a surveillance camera, lobby monitor, and OpenPath control solutions for key access points in the Evidence Department and Temporary Holding Facility. The Butte County Sheriff’s Office will purchase (3) SiForce Flash Forensic Workstations to efficiently to download, process, and review data from suspect and witness personal electronic devices (phones, tablets, computers, etc.).
