The Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and Saginaw City Police Department wish to use the 2024 JAG award to purchase new patrol vehicles to include the emergency equipment needed to outfit the vehicles.

Saginaw has consistently ranked above the national average for both violent and property crimes. Due to the loss of local and state funding, the County and City of Saginaw have reduced funds available for basic law enforcement services; without funding received via the 2024 JAG Grant initiative the ability of either jurisdiction to deliver basic law enforcement services will be reduced. Funds will be used to provide support to purchase vehicles for patrol use for the Saginaw County Sheriff’s Office and provide support to purchase vehicles for patrol use for the Saginaw City Police Department.
