City of Champaign - Projects include a staff study for the police department to determine staff needs, and a strategic planning project for the PD. Urbana and Champaign County will participate.

The City of Champaign plans to use grant funds to contract a staff study and strategic plan for the police department.  Both of these important components need to be updated for the department to effectively move towards and accomplish its goals.  The City of Urbana plans to use grant funds to purchase riot helmets and riot shields for the officers of their police department. They are in need of new equipment.  Champaign County plans to use grant funds to purchase fuel for squad cars.
