JAG Funding for Law Enforcement Equipment

The disparate jurisdictions of Alachua County, Florida and the City of Gainesville, Florida will use JAG funds for equipment, supplies, and training. Specifically, the City will subgrant the county’s funds to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office through a MOU between the City, County, and the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office will use JAG funds to purchase equipment and supplies, primarily for the special teams including SWAT, K9, NRT (Negotiations Response Team), Bomb, and Motors. The City of Gainesville will use JAG funds to purchase equipment and supplies to bolster its operations and enhance its Co-Responder Team by sending the team to a training.
