The City of West Memphis, Arkansas Police Department and the Crittenden County, Arkansas Sheriff’s Department are diverse jurisdictions jointly covering Crittenden County. The funds provided from this grant will increase the effectiveness in technology, policing and safety for the individual entities.

The city of West Memphis will outfit 5 police units with Computer mounting hardware, ticket printers, and Dell rugged laptops allowing the officers to check for warrants, issue citations, and complete motor vehicle accident and incident reports. Funds will also be used to purchase 30 Desktops to replace out of date computer technology enabling the officers to complete necessary paperwork for accident, incident, and arrest reports as well as purchase 2 Dell Servers, that allows back up of all WMPD Data and Video. This will allow the Department to have items stored digitally on the stated servers.
Crittenden County will outfit officers will bullet proof body ware.
These funds will aid in accomplishing these priorities. The Departments will begin to purchase the items listed beginning when the JAG funds become available.
