Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2024, $140,487)

The disparate jurisdictions of the Stanislaus County and the City of Modesto in California will use JAG funds to improve their health and wellness programs utilizing technology, testing and equipment. The funds from the Sheriff's Office will also be shared with the Probation Department to cover a portion of personnel costs.
    Specifically, the City of Modesto Police Department will use its allocated funds to provide its employees with heart health screenings as well as purchase technology and equipment to facilitate personnel wellness and continue to develop the department's wellness program. The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office will disburse its allocated funding between the Stanislaus County Probation Department and the Sheriff’s Office. The Sheriff’s Office will fund the maintenance of a software application to support a wellness program for mental and physical health. A healthy workforce will greatly benefit the citizens of Stanislaus County. The Probation Department will fund a portion of a Deputy Probation Officer for its Domestic Violence Program to provide public safety.
