The City of Norfolk relies on a prepared and well-trained Police Department to provide safety for the city, residents, and visitors. The Norfolk Police Department strives to make the city safer through evidence-based projects that prevent, reduce, and remove criminal elements while also keeping officer safety in mind. Norfolk proposes to use FY24 JAG funding for police overtime, annual accreditation certification, and police department equipment and supplies.
