Proposal Abstract

The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) is committed to enhancing the community's response to gun violence and other violent offenses. To effectively tackle this pressing issue, BPD faces the challenge of pinpointing both offenders and hotspots of gun-related incidents across the city. In response, BPD is prioritizing the integration of advanced camera surveillance, specialized training for personnel in our real-time crime center, and the implementation of innovative tools and methodologies. These strategic enhancements will bolster our capacity to identify violent offenders, support victims, and ultimately reduce crime in Birmingham, fostering a safer environment for all residents.
