National Decertification Index Enhancement

The International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training is planning to expand the National Decertification Index as outlined in this Request for Proposal (RFP). The purpose of the National Decertification Index (NDI) is to serve as a national registry of certificate or license revocation actions relating to law enforcement officer misconduct. The International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST) intends to create and implement a best-in-class pointer system interactive database to empower NDI stakeholders to contribute and query information for the purpose of making informed hiring and employment decisions regarding previously employed law enforcement personnel and applicants. The funding requested will enable IADLEST to operate the NDI for multiple years with enhanced security, reporting, and functionality.  The NDI is critical to the national emphasis on law enforcement reform and oversight. It is an invaluable tool for background investigators to detect and deter the portability of problem officers.
