Kotlik Tribal Youth Planning Grant

The Village of Kotlik has spiraling violent crime, limited public safety, a decades-old problem with alcohol, the myriad of social problems that accompany alcohol abuse, and a new victim services program and a new violence against women program that is not yet being implemented. The Village of Kotlik is working hard to provide services to victims, to provide public safety, and to stop the flow of alcohol into their rural community. The Seeding Change Planning Grant will support a dedicated planning period for the tribe to develop strategies to improve and enhance tribal juvenile justice systems that include prevention, intervention, and treatment programs and services for youth.
