Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $497,245)

The Washoe Tribe of Nevada & California Tribal Youth Program serves youth ages 8–21 via its focus on (1) data management, (2) rehabilitation, (3) therapeutic approaches, and (4) strengthening cultural identity and family engagement. The Washoe Tribe of Nevada and California Juvenile Probation Office understands that to improve services it must establish a robust data collection system such as Caseload Pro specific for youthful offenders. It can track youth from referral to case closure and everything in between. Second, it allows the implementation of a validated Youth Level of Services/Case Management Inventory package to assess risk and need for all youth at risk or already in the system. It provides youth-specific information to formulate a case plan that offers individualized and comprehensive prevention service planning to include identification of resiliency factors (inherent strengths) and risk factors (red flags).
