Guiding Youth to a Better Path

Lower Brule Sioux Tribe is a federally recognized tribe located in Lower Brule, South Dakota. With this funding, Guiding Youth to a Better Path will increase cultural awareness and connection, decrease chromic absenteeism, and increase attendance at court appearances and counseling services. To continue providing the Kul Wicasa Oyate (Lakota translation Lower Brule People) with needed educational services and support, the Guiding Youth to a Better Path Initiative looks to build upon the foundation established by the Lower Brule Schools. The Guiding Youth to a Better Path Initiative ensures that students receive equitable access to quality services and resources to propel students forward in being able to fulfill their full potential.
