BMIC Child Advocacy Center Purpose Area 6

The Bay Mills Indian Community requested funding to improve the investigation, prosecution, and handling of child abuse particularly cases of child sexual abuse by establishing a local child advocacy center (CAC) for trained professionals to conduct forensic interviews.  Funding will be used to pay for salary and fringe benefits of a full-time forensic interviewer and a part-time CAC Manager/Assistant; travel accommodations to attend OVC required training and other local and national conferences; purchase program and general office supplies; pay for CAC of Michigan membership fees, maintenance of CAC, and indirect cost expenses.
