Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $199,772)
The Urban Institute will build on the BJA-sponsored Jail Reentry Roundtable Initiative and the National Institute of Corrections (NIC)-sponsored Transition from Jail to Community (TJC) effort to expand the knowledge base in jurisdictions around the country. They will develop strategies for engaging two key stakeholder groups who are central to effective transition from jail to home communities: community providers and elected officials. More specifically, the project will allow the Urban Institute to adapt the Jail Administrator's Toolkit for Reentry for these additional key audiences. Each product will utilize the core materials developed for the Jail Administrator's Toolkit. The toolkits will also be reorganized to align with the TJC model elements to enhance the cross-fertilization opportunities across projects.
