State and Local Terrorism Prevention Training and Technical Assistance Program

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will continue to provide support for the State and Local Anti-Terrorism Training (SLATT) Program. SLATT is the next-generation counter-terror training and technical assistance service that addresses emerging issues, evolving technology, and changing geopolitical conditions. The overarching goal of the SLATT Program is to increase the effectiveness of state and local law enforcement professionals in identifying pre-incident terrorism indicators and preventing acts of terrorism. To reach this goal, IIR will utilize a multifaceted approach to provide specialized anti-terrorism training and technical assistance through on-site training and service delivery, web-based education and research, and timely products addressing officer safety and emerging trends in the counterterrorism arena.
