Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2007, $1,098,553)

The International Association of the Chiefs of Police (IACP) and the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP) will provide training and technical assistance to Bureau of Justice Assistance-funded projects under the Sex Offender Management Training and Technical Assistance Program. IACP and CEPP will provide national-level sex offender management training and the tools to disciplines that include probation and parole, law enforcement, judges, prosecutors, and other professions that have responsibility for managing sex offenders.

The Comprehensive Approaches to Sex Offender Management (CASOM) Grant Program is authorized under Title IV of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, Pub. L. No. 103-322, 42 U.S.C. 13941. The CASOM grants are awarded to state, local, and tribal jurisdictions to develop or enhance sex offender management practices for offenders under community supervision.
