Voorhees College will support a comprehensive and collaborative program entitled, 'Voorhees College Versus Violent Crimes (VC vs. VC)' that addresses and strengthens victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women on campuses. They will provide educational programming for students inside and outside of the classroom. They will also provide training for appropriate internal personnel (security officers, residential life staff, residential students, student peer mentors, and all areas of the student life staff). VC vs. VC Program aims to raise the level of awareness about domestic violence in African-American college communities: its existence, prevalence, nature, and its damaging effects, and provides information about individual rights, available options, resources, and services. Voorhees College will create a Women's Advocate position, provide travel costs to attend conferences related to victim services, purchase supplies to conduct daily activities and classes, such as computers, radios, videos, and DVD/VCRs, and contract services for workshops, seminars, and counseling services.
