The GET will continue to use a multi-faceted approach to address the problem of increased activity by criminal gangs. The GET will coordinate and provide community education on gang awareness and prevention; identify and document individuals involved in criminal gang activity; target criminal gang behavior for arrest and prosecution; and facilitate a working relationship with other community agencies and businesses to decrease the gang problem in Willmar. The GET will continue to work closely with the patrol, detective, and juvenile divisions of the Willmar Police Department to ensure the seamless integration of program activities and responsibilities of each division.
