The Township of Austintown will continue and enhance the Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force (MVLETF) in the fight against drugs and violent crime in the Mahoning Valley. MVLETF is a multi-jurisdictional operation, formed in 1986, having 24 local and federal member agencies. The area served by the task force includes both Mahoning and Trumbull counties. MVLETF will enhance services provided by existing local, state, and federal agencies in the Mahoning Valley; investigate and arrest members of drug trafficking organizations and gangs; locate and arrest violent fugitives; disrupt or dismantle gangs; and confiscate weapons from offenders.
