Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $75,000)

Hobson and Associates will assist selected judicial districts in the development, implementation, and delivery of training for primary law enforcement agencies operating in support of the Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Anti-Gang and Gun Recovery and Enforcement Training Programs. This training is designed to enhance street-level crime gun detection, interdiction, and recovery techniques and firearms case articulation, with the goal of successful prosecution. Working closely with designated local U.S. Attorney's Office personnel and representatives of other DOJ PSN technical assistance providers, Hobson and Associates will provide training materials and classroom instruction to law enforcement officers on how to recognize potentially armed gang members or other criminal gunmen at the street level, make safe and effective crime gun recoveries, and present stronger, more comprehensive cases leading to successful court prosecutions at both the state and federal levels.
