Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $2,000,000)

The Georgia Tech Applied Research Corporation will provide continued operational, engineering, and technical support for the evolution of both the Global Justice XML Data Model (GJXDM) and the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM), as well as associated tools that will lead to a series of operational releases and expanded content through October 2009. The engineering work performed under this proposal is to be performed under the oversight and guidance of the NIEM and GJXDM governing bodies. The primary goals of the program include: the expansion and integration of new NIEM stakeholders and their data requirements; increased interoperability across a larger set of NIEM-based cross-domain and national priority exchanges; and, reduction in cost and time to implement these exchanges.
