Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program

The National Correctional Industries Association (NCIA) will continue to provide monitoring compliance services, training, and technical assistance to the Prison Industry Enhancement Certification Program (PIECP) participants. PIECP provides prison inmates with work experience and training in job skills that would be marketable in the community upon release.

NCIA will continue to collect the PIECP performance reports, as required by the PIECP Guidelines, by: collecting data from Certificate Holders each quarter; entering the data into the PIECP master database; converting the reports into PDF format; and, posting them on the NCIA website. NCIA will also continue to provide technical assistance (TA) and training support to prospective and actual PIECP Certificate Holders to assist with PIECP administration and compliance issues.
