Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2008, $282,331)
The Philadelphia Police Department will continue to provide services as the G.R.E.A.T. Northeast Regional Training Center (NRTC). NRTC provides training, technical assistance, and support to G.R.E.AT. Program agencies in Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, and Washington DC. NRTC promotes the G.R.E.A.T. Program within the law enforcement community and provides technical assistance and training to agencies that wish to start or expand the G.R.E.A.T. Program in their communities. The project also works to recruit underrepresented states into the program by participating in conferences and training events in order to promote the G.R.E.A.T. Program.
