The city of Rialto will utilize its Fiscal Year 2008 JAG award in the amount of $29,440 to implement a crime analysis program. The crime analysis program will assist the Rialto Police Department's Crime Analysis Unit to become a more pro-active intelligence unit rather than a reactive information processing unit. The program is designed to provide crime analysis personnel with the most up-to-date advanced software programs to focus on criminal enterprise cases to include: street gangs, narcotics, trafficking, organized crime cartels, and terrorist organizations. Implementation will require $13,000 of the JAG funds. The remaining funds will be used for additional technology-related equipment to include computers, printers, and map plotters.
