The Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP) will provide training and technical assistance to the grantees of the Bureau of Justice Assistance Prisoner Reentry Initiative (PRI), as well as their community and faith-based partners. CEPP will: establish close, collegial relationships with the grantees; engage them in a process of diagnosing their needs for assistance; support their role in providing leadership and oversight to collaborative initiatives; provide appropriate substantive expertise (assessment, case management, employment, transitional housing, etc.) to each grantee; and facilitate the exchange of information and lessons that emerge from the PRI grantees as a group. The project is geared to help reentering offenders to obtain and retain employment, to become law abiding members of society, and to access those services which will be instrumental in their own success.
