Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2009, $1,425,020)

The IJIS Institute will work with the Bureau of Justice Assistance to support the Common Terrorism Information Sharing Standards (CTISS) program activities. This project will provide continued support to the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) and the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative (NSI). The IJIS Institute will provide support to the Program Management-Information Sharing Environment (PM-ISE), Department of Homeland Security, Office of Computer Information (DHS/OCIO), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and the Department of Justice, Office of Computer Information (DOJ/OCIO) to maintain and enhance Functional Standards related to the NSI and associated NIEM Information Exchange Package Documents (IEPDs). This project will provide CTISS communications and outreach, maintain the Information Sharing Environment-Suspicious Activity Reporting (ISE-SAR) Evaluation Environment (EE) and support the NIEM fellowship program.
