The disparate jurisdictions consisting of Floyd County and New Albany City will use their fiscal year 2009 JAG award for technology enhancements. Floyd County, serving as the fiscal agent, will use $19,439.34 to purchase twenty Pentax mobile printers and five laptop computers with installation and related equipment for the Floyd County Sheriffs Department and the Floyd County Prosecutor's Office. The New Albany Police Department will purchase twenty Pentax mobile printers with related equipment and installation costs. These funds will assist in the efforts of the Floyd County Criminal Justice System in moving towards an e-citation system and the ability of the courts in Floyd County to move to a paperless tracking system in which all court cases are managed electronically, from the law enforcement officers to the court.
