Prison Rape Elimination Impact Project

The Center for Innovative Public Policies(CIPP) will work with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to capture detailed information regarding BJA funded initiatives that are awarded to states. These initiatives support the process of making correctional facilities and communities safer and to decrease sexual violence against those in care, custody, and control. CIPP will catalog these efforts, storing the information in one place for ease of access by the field through collecting current brochures, lesson plans, policies/procedures, management practices, and identifying 'centers of excellence.' These initiatives will help other agencies learn about strategies to address Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) mandates and increase compliance with approved standards.
