Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $500,000)

The Greenville Technical College, Carolina's Institute for Community Policing (CICP), working in partnership with the Regional Community Policing Institute of California, will train law enforcement officials across the nation in the principles of Franklin Covey's 7 Habits for Highly Effective Law Enforcement Officers, Policing at the Speed of Trust, and The Nobility of Policing. They will also build a cohort of new Franklin-Covey trainers certified in delivery of these products through train-the-trainer events, with ongoing support for trainers to share best practices and lessons learned during monthly conference calls. Building on prior experience in the national delivery of these training programs, CICP will ensure that officers across the nation have access to this potentially career and life-saving information. The project will build the human capital necessary to support public safety needs.
