Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $400,000)
The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) will address emerging public safety issues. The emerging public safety issues to be addressed are motor vehicle fraud, vacant property crimes, mortgage and consumer fraud, cyberbullying, and caretaker abuse of the elderly. NCPC will address these issues by implementing a public education initiative that raises awareness of the problem, gives strategies to resolve the situation, and motivates individuals to action. The primary goals of this project are to develop national public education resources to generate awareness and change behavior on the issues proposed within this grant; create an interactive and engaging platform to give youth a voice on the issue of cyberbullying; and sustain or enhance the resources developed.
