Smarter Sentencing Practices to Reduce Recidivism Initiative

The Justice Management Institute in partnership with the Carey Group will continue to provide training and technical assistance to state and local teams of justice professionals (prosecutors, judges, defenders, and corrections officials) to implement and/or enhance research-based sentencing practices to improve offender outcomes. The project goals are to foster the implementation of research-based practices through smarter sentencing plans and to increase awareness and understanding of smarter sentencing in reentry.
