The city of Desert Hot Springs, through the police department, will utilize the FY 2010 funds to enhance their law enforcement efforts. Specifically, the Desert Hot Springs Police Department will use the funds for overtime. The overtime is necessary due to the shortage of necessary staffing and the police department has a forced overtime patrol schedule to maintain adequate law enforcement.
