The National Crime Prevention Council, in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance and The Ad Council, will create public service advertising campaigns to increase the awareness of safe storage of firearms and prevent gun-related violence. They will develop survey and assessment tools to understand the barriers and motivators for safe gun storage; expose the target audience to the public awareness campaign through television, radio, outdoor, and other advertising media as appropriate; and align with the top interested organizations to establish cooperative partnerships. They will sustain and evaluate the public education campaign and conduct outreach to enhance the use and distribution of the campaign public service advertisings.
NCA/NCF
The National Crime Prevention Council (NCPC) in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and The Ad Council, will continue to create a public education campaigns encouraging firearm owners to make firearm storage and safety a priority. NCPC will enhance and expand the outreach for the Safe Firearms Storage public education campaign. The campaign will remind firearms owners to protect their children, prevent avoidable injury, provide safe firearms storage options, and keep their communities safe. The primary goal of the campaign is to encourage safe storage firearms.
