Note:
This awardee has received supplemental funding. This award detail page includes information about both the original award and supplemental awards.
The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) will expand the reach and visibility of this Missing Alzheimer's Initiative by developing and implementing a nationwide training and marketing program in order to ensure maximum impact of the projects within the first responder community. In addition to the resources and tools provided through the toolkit, IACP will encourage law enforcement to take advantage of existing, well-established programs, such as MedicAlert + Alzheimer's Safe Return Registry. They will expand Alzheimer's training in various parts of the United States and provide "train-the-trainer" sessions to maximize the use of the Alzheimer's training.
NCA/NCF
Ensuring the safety and security of this special population is the central goal for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)'s Alzheimer's Initiatives. IACP will expand the reach of this initiative by continuing to deliver high-quality classroom training, develop a train-the-trainer model which will enable more departments to benefit from the curriculum and continue to raise awareness and visibility of the issue within the law enforcement community by marketing existing tools and resources through the many channels of IACP.
