The Bronx County District Attorney's Office (DA) will use funds to continue combating intellectual property (IP) rights crime in Bronx County, and to focus on crimes associated with violent crime. Because this is a persisent problem, the DA's Office will continue to investigate IP crimes and will enhance the effectiveness of the prosecution of IP crimes.
Specifically, the DA's Office will enforce IP laws, increase the knowledge of IP crimes through training, track recidivist defendants, and increase the public's knowledge of IP crimes. This project will result in the following deliverables: (1) expanding the Bronx County District Attorney's database of IP perpetrators and locations; (2) producing a brochure to inform the Bronx public about the existence and costs of IP crime; and (3) providing training to assistant district attorneys on best practices in the prosecution of IP crime.
