The Western Community Policing Institute (WCPI) at Western Oregon University will enhance and continue to provide a proactive and comprehensive tribal-focused training and technical assistance program that fosters collaboration among tribal, state, federal, and local governments with an emphasis on law enforcement, including corrections. This project will continue to create and enhance a program that is designed to more effectively assist tribes, Alaska villages, and their respective stakeholders in fostering collaboration, understanding culture, and increasing coordination and communication. WCPI will provide tribes, Alaska villages, and stakeholders with continued access to training and technical assistance designed to enhance tribal and Alaska Native governments' abilities, while empowering tribes and villages to become more effective in the administration of justice programs and meet the needs of their unique communities.
