The Institute for Intergovernmental Research (IIR) will utilize a multifaceted approach to provide regional training sessions and technical assistance on terrorism prevention matters; prepare and disseminate publications related to the counterterrorism efforts of state, local, and tribal law enforcement; and offer Web-based education and research addressing officer safety and emerging trends in the terrorism prevention arena. IIR will deliver workshops to law enforcement personnel on a variety of topics that have a nexus to identifying, combatting, or responding to terrorist activity to include management of BJA's Communities Against Terrorism (CAT) program; evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of training methods, content, and delivery; maintaining and continue to enhance the features, functionality, and content of the SLATT.org website; and research, develop, and deliver online distance learning capabilities.
